Yuval D. Bar-Kokhba
Mr. Bar-Kokhba joined Garbarini & Scher, P.C. in 1997 and became a partner in 2003. Since joining the firm, Mr. Bar-Kokhba has handled complex litigation matters in various practice areas, including, but not limited to commercial litigation, medical malpractice, general liability, intellectual property, product liability, construction law, insurance coverage, hospital bankruptcy claims liquidation, civil rights, and employment law. Mr. Bar-Kokhba’s reported cases include Loewy v. Stuart Drug and Surgical Supply, et al., 1999 LEXIS1565 (S.D.N.Y.); Sita v. Danek Medical, Inc., 43 F. Supp. 2d, 245 (E.D.N.Y. 1999); Tokio Marine Fire Insurance Co. v. Insurance Company of North America, 693 N.Y.S.2d 520 (1st Dep’t 1999); In re National Union Fire Insurance Co. of Pittsburgh v. St. Barnabas Community Enterprises, Inc., 851 N.Y.S.2d 473 (1st Dep’t 2008). Mr. Bar-Kokhba also advises major New York City hospitals in risk management and has represented hospitals in Bankruptcy Court-annexed mediation of medical malpractice claims. Mr. Bar-Kokhba earned his undergraduate degree from State University of New York, College at Oswego and his juris doctorate from Brooklyn Law School, where he was Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Law and Policy and the recipient of the Regina Crea Memorial Award for the most devoted and disinterested service to the law school.
Aside from his responsibilities at the firm, Mr. Bar-Kokhba is a Lecturer of Law & Health at New York Medical College, School of Health Sciences & Practice and Institute of Public Health. Mr. Bar-Kokhba is fluent in Hebrew.
