Evan R. Schnittman
Evan Schnittman joined Garbarini & Scher, P.C. as an associate in 2018. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Schnittman was a Senior Counsel at the Office of the Corporation Counsel where he represented the City of New York in a variety of lawsuits in areas such as federal civil rights, federal disability law, the state Freedom of Information Law, and commercial litigation. His notable accomplishments include obtaining judicial approval of a settlement of a federal class action, over the objections of the Legal Aid Society, brought by New York City school students challenging student-on-student bullying policies, and successfully defending the City’s policy prohibiting photography in polling stations during elections in a federal bench trial.
Aside from his responsibilities at the firm, Mr. Schnittman enjoys a passion for volunteerism, which includes serving as a volunteer arbitrator with the New York City Small Claims Court and volunteering with the Hudson River Park Green Team. Mr. Schnittman earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan (with distinction) and his Juris Doctorate from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law (cum laude).
