Christine E. F. Rockwell
Ms. Rockwell joined Garbarini & Scher in 1999 and has been a partner since 2004. Ms. Rockwell is active in all of the firm’s practice areas and handles many of the firm’s high exposure cases. She tries Medical Malpractice, Nursing Home Negligence, Labor Law and other negligence cases with excellent results. Ms. Rockwell has developed a particular expertise in the defense of plastic surgeons, ophthalmologists and other specialized surgeons, obtaining many verdicts in their favor. She has also had great success in extricating institutional clients from high exposure cases through aggressive motion practice. Her winning strategies have led to significant limitations in the context of vicarious liability of institutional defendants, among other areas. In addition, she has been involved in the Silicone Gel Multi- District Breast Implant Litigation, New York City Breast Implant Litigation and New York City Asbestos Litigation, the latter of which is still ongoing. Ms. Rockwell is sought after for her common-sense approach to litigation, trial experience and proven track record. She has been an invited speaker at area hospitals and practices.
Ms. Rockwell is a graduate of Fordham University School of Law. During her second year of law school, she was a Staff Member of the respected Fordham Urban Law Journal, and in her third year she was Managing Editor of Volume 22. The Fordham Urban Law Journal remains one of the most cited student-edited publications. Ms. Rockwell was honored with receipt of The Archibald R. Murray Public Service award during law school. On occasion, she is active with Fordham’s Moot Court Program. Prior to attending law school, Ms. Rockwell received a Bachelor of Arts degree with honors from St. John’s University.
Ms. Rockwell began the firm’s Workers’ Compensation practice in 2001. That practice has tripled in size since its inception and the firm’s Workers’ Compensation attorneys are widely regarding as simultaneously aggressive and practical.
